The Path to a Positive Appointment
Hanosh, Hunter, and Farris Dental Group provide sedation dentistry for one simple reason, your comfort. We have oral and IV sedation options and both leave you fully conscious yet completely relaxed and at ease.
Yourdentistryguide.com highlights some important advantages to sedation dentistry below:
"One of the major benefits of sedation dentistry is that people often feel like their dental procedure lasts only a few minutes, when in fact it might have taken hours to perform. Therefore, complex dental procedures such as smile makeovers or extensive rebuilding procedures that normally require multiple visits can often be performed in fewer appointments.
If you are reluctant to change the appearance of your smile because you are afraid or anxious about undergoing long or complicated dental procedures, sedation dentistry can make you feel comfortable during the treatment process and help you achieve a smile you can be proud of.
Also, because sedation dentistry addresses some of the fears that keep people from going to the dentist on a regular basis, sedation dentistry patients are more likely to receive recommended routine care. As a result, they are less likely to neglect their oral health or allow oral health problems to build to the point when drastic dental treatments become necessary."
Three Levels of Sedation
Nitrous oxide is a gas that is breathed through the nose during the procedure. It is extremely safe, a great option for nervous children, and is immediately reversible. Moreover, it is perfect for mildly nervous adults.
Oral sedation comes in the form of a prescribed mild sedative that provides a more overall relaxing effect than nitrous oxide and can last through the length of the procedure. Patients will need a ride home after their visit.
IV sedation is one step below general anesthesia and the patient can breath on his or her own, respond to verbal commands and retain all reflexes. The patient remains in a state of twilight where no memories are made or are not very vivid.
Hear From Our Patients
"I'm going to jump on the 5 star band wagon. I love the doctors and their staff. They are all very friendly and professional. Dr. Scott has done many procedures on my teeth. Sadly, I was born with weak teeth and had a very aggressive dentist growing up so now I am dealing with cracking teeth and crown after crown. My first appointment with him was an implant. I came to Dr. Scott after my dentist told me I needed it, but he was going to have to refer me out to two other specialist for the complete job. Dr. Hanosh is a one stop shop. He did the sinus lift, the post implant and the tooth, and it is still my favorite tooth!"
"I get horrible dental anxiety and Dr. Hunter always takes great care of me!! For as long as I live in the Paradise area Dr. Hunter will be my dentist!! His staff is also so wonderful and caring!!"
